Ignore the directions that are given on these sites once you pass the Children's Museum of New Hampshire. Immediately past the Children's Museum you will cross a bridge over the Cocheco River. You will be able to see the 1 Washington Center mill on your right. The building is 5 stories tall, and has large banners hanging from each of the entrance towers. The directions tell you to turn left, but you should go straight on Washington Street in front of 1 Washington Center. After parking (see below), enter the building in the West Tower Entrance (right hand tower as you are looking at the building). For Visitors, Parent Volunteers and Teachers: Pull past 1 Washington Center, on your left (across the street from 1 Washington Center) you will see a cream colored building. That building has a tobacco store called Smoke Signals upstairs, and a recording studio downstairs. Pull in behind that building, and park in front of the "2 Hour Parking- 1 Washington Center" signs. DO NOT PARK IN THE PERMIT REQUIRED AREA OF THE LOT. The lot owner WILL tow your car at YOUR expense! Once you have parked, walk across the street to 1 Washington Center. Look for the double doors in the West Tower Entrance. Come straight in to the City. See a staff member for a parking pass to place on your dashboard. For Bus Drivers. Pull up in front of 1 Washington Center in front of the West Tower Entrance. Honk your horn. We will greet the children on the bus, and then give the driver directions for parking. ***** |
